While offering visitors an engaging and educational experience.
Turtle Sanctuary and Marine Life Aquarium
A dedicated haven for the conservation and rehabilitation of sea turtles and marine life. Located on the picturesque shores of Elegushi Beach in Lagos, Nigeria, our sanctuary serves as both a vital conservation center and an engaging tourist attraction.
Our Mission
Sea turtles play a crucial role in maintaining the health of marine ecosystems, yet they face numerous threats, including illegal trade and habitat destruction. At the Lekan Bakare Foundation, we are committed to protecting these majestic creatures. Our mission encompasses:
Rescue and Rehabilitation: We actively rescue injured or distressed sea turtles, providing them with medical care and a safe environment to recover. Once rehabilitated, these turtles are released back into their natural ocean habitats, contributing to the preservation of their populations.
Conservation Education: Through our programs, we aim to raise awareness about the importance of sea turtles and marine conservation, fostering a sense of responsibility towards protecting our oceans.
