To wrap up our World Oceans Day 2025 celebration, We hosted βArt for Oceansβ yesterday at the Turtle Sanctuary, Elegushi Beach which was a vibrant fusion of creativity, learning, and marine advocacy.
Led by our Senior Programmes Manager, Esther Babatunde, the session kicked off with interactive icebreakers and a lively Q&A that engaged pupils from different schools. She guided the pupils through the importance of ocean protection, SDG 14, and why their voices matter in conversations around marine sustainability.
The highlight was a hands-on mural painting session, where pupils brought ocean stories to life through art β painting turtles, dolphins, sea monsters, and more. Their interpretations sparked powerful conversations on plastic pollution, overfishing, and conservation.
Β
Our Marine Biologist, Iyiola Babalola, delivered an Art for Conservation talk, followed by poetry recitations, artwork reflections, and the recitation of the LBF Ocean Pledge. The energy, curiosity, and creativity displayed throughout made it clear: the future of ocean advocacy is bright.
Β
Art for Oceans was a beautiful reminder that change begins with awareness and thrives through the imagination of young minds.
