Our recent blue school advocacy initiative brought us to the Army’s Children’s School in Dodan Barracks, Obalende, Ikoyi, Lagos state. During this visit, we conducted an educational session with the students, focusing on the rich marine biodiversity of Nigeria’s oceans and underscoring the importance of marine conservation.
To compliment these lessons, we engaged the students in a hands-on tree-planting activity within the school premises. This initiative was designed to foster an appreciation for tree planting and its crucial role in combating climate change. We emphasized the importance of nurturing these newly planted trees, encouraging the children to take pride in their contribution to a greener environment.
Our visit was a significant step towards instilling a sense of environmental responsibility in the young students at the Army Children’s School. We eagerly anticipate our next engagement to continue this important work.
Inspired by Lori Desautels’ powerful words, “Inclusion is not a nicety, it is a necessity,” we launched another advocacy campaign, reaching two schools and igniting a passion for environmental awareness and responsibility in students and teachers alike. Through interactive sessions and engaging discussions, we showcased the benefits of eco-friendly practices and encouraged the school community to take action.
Together, we explored practical ways to reduce waste, conserve resources, and make a positive impact on our planet.
And by working together, we can create a brighter, more sustainable future for all. Let’s continue to inspire and motivate each other – young and old alike – to make a difference, one small step at a time as in the last slide.
We understand that a powerful tool for promoting positive change is deliberately making Advocacy Efforts and this serves as the bedrock of our Blues School Project.

We had the privilege of engaging with the students of Goshen High School, Abuja.
Our primary objective during this visit was to raise awareness about the critical issue of marine conservation🐬. We aimed to provide the students with knowledge about how they can actively contribute to protecting the aquatic environment 🌱.
To instil global responsibility and awareness, we introduced the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to the students. These universal goals serve as a blueprint for a better and more sustainable future. By acquainting the students with the SDGs at a young age, we aim to empower them with the knowledge and motivation to actively participate in addressing global challenges, particularly their roles as contributors to climate change solutions 📚.
In summary, our visit to Goshen High School, Abuja, provided an opportunity to nurture the minds of young individuals, instilling in them a sense of responsibility and awareness regarding environmental and societal issues.
These students, as future leaders, have the potential to drive positive change and play a pivotal role in preserving our world for generations to come ✨.
